Plant Companions and Uses

Anise- coriander.
Basil- tomato; dislikes rue; repels flies and mosquitoes.
Borage- tomato, squash.
Buttercup- clover; hinders delphinium, peony, monkshood, columbine.
Chamomile- helps peppermint, wheat, onions, and cabbage; large amounts destructive.
Catnip- repels flea beetles.
Chervil- radish.
Chives- carrot; prone to apple scab and powdery mildew.
Coriander- hinders seed formation in fennel.
Cosmos- repels corn earworms
Dill- cabbage; hinders carrot and tomato.
Fennel- disliked by all garden vegetables.
Garlic- aids vetch and roses; hinders peas and beans.
Hemp- beneficial as a neighbor to most plants.
Horseradish- repels potato bugs.
Horsetail- makes fungicide spray.
